-Looks like Patrick Sullivan is the clear front runner to win the 1B job on Opening Day. Adam Sasser is banged up right now (doesn't seem to be serious) and Sullivan is swinging a hot bat... Sullivan is now listed at 220 lbs too... he's gotten a lot stronger and bigger.

-There is probably going to be a lot of mixing and matching around the IF... I doubt anyone knocks out Cam Shepard at SS, but we'll probably see Procter and Talley at 2B, Talley, Sasser, and Sullivan at 1B, and Schunk and Webb at 3B... I imagine Talley gets the first look at 2B, but I think Procter will probably end up being the guy there. They'll look at a lot of different combinations and hopefully settle on four guys by the time we go to Baton Rouge... it won't just be batting average either, but quality of ABs.

I thought it was a mistake two years and to proclaim Nick King and Trevor Kieboom as the left side out of fall practice. I think we'll see more flexibility this year early. Stricklin has to walk a line of winning and maintaining the buzz around the freshman class.

-Don't be surprised if the Opening Day starter is Chase Adkins.

-Blakely Brown could wind up in the rotation if one of Adkins, Locey, or Smith falters or gets injured.

-I'm betting Ryan Avidano gets the start in our first mid week game, at Mercer. That'd be an interesting "full circle" type of deal.

-Stricklin is extremely optimistic about this group.
