-First, how about the job done by Zak Kristofak? I really didn't think he could work that long when he came in... He had a great tempo today, and looked like he was throwing with a ton of confidence. That was good to see... He's getting better and better.

-I liked the shuffling of the order today. Aaron Schunk isn't your prototypical leadoff hitter, but I thought it was a good call putting him up there. He seems to be seeing it great right now. Our top two hitters today were 7-10 with 1 strikeout between them. So much easier to score when that's the case.

-Cam Shepherd is just a natural.... he makes plays at SS and makes them look easy... he seems like a very quiet guy, but he is such a high level player. We're going to love watching him develop.

-Tennessee probably feels like they should have won this one today. We plated three runs on wild pitches... a lot of our damage in those late innings was really attributable to some very sloppy play on their part. Not that we need to apologize for that or anything... and you do have to have guys on base to capitalize on the wild pitches. We played a much more confident game today than Tennessee... that was good to see. It wasn't the most enjoyable win I've ever seen, but we're at the point where we just need wins, not style points. We didn't go in the tank down 4-0 and we didn't panic being down in the 7th. Lot to be said for that.

-I'll give Blake Cairnes a lot of credit. He made a mental mistake trying to catch that pop up in the 9th... I respect a guy trying to make a play, but that should have been Biggar or Schunk to get it. But after that, Cairnes really beared down... He'd been 2-0 on a number of hitters before that, but after that error, I don't think he threw another ball.... I really respect that. He had to turn it up a little bit to finish things off, and he did that.

-The pitching matchup should really favor us tomorrow. That was the case last Sunday too... We've got to go out and execute, but it's a very winnable looking game on paper.

-Knoxville is really a pretty nice place. This is the 4th time I've been up here for baseball, and I've spent some time up here work-wise too. It seems to get a little better each time. Their downtown/ "market square" area is really nice. Miss RedRain and I have had two fantastic dinners here so far. You wouldn't think of Knoxville as being "trendy" but that's really what it is, at least around here...

-Let's win this series tomorrow. No reason we shouldn't be able to beat these guys. If we get to 3-6, this thing will certainly look a lot more manageable.
