Was looking at the 2015 SEC Helmet Schedule earlier (http://cdn.fbschedules.com/helmets/2015-sec-helmet-schedule.pdf):
- First time in a while (at least that I can remember) that we haven't had a significant stretch of time away from Sanford during the season. The longest break we have between home games this year is from Mizzou on Oct. 17 to Kentucky on Nov. 7. Last year, by comparison, after our home game with Vandy on Oct. 4, we didn't play again in Athens until Auburn on Nov. 15. Much better balance this year.
- Both us & Bama have a pretty tough home game & then a cream puff home game in the two weeks before we play each other. We play SC on 9/19, then Southern on 9/26. Bama has Ole Miss & LA-Monroe on those dates. So no real advantage for either team.
- Florida is the only team on our SEC schedule that has an off week right before they play us. But that's our off week too.
- Tech plays at Miami the Saturday before our game. At least they won't be able to rest up for us.
- Ole Miss plays 10 straight games before their off week. Longest stretch in the SEC this year. Nobody else goes more than 8 weeks before their bye.
- No team has an bye during the first five weeks of the season. Probably due to there only being 13 Saturdays between Labor Day weekend & Thanksgiving weekend instead of 14 like we had the past two seasons, which gave each team two bye weeks.
- Texas A&M, Tennessee, & LSU all have an off week before playing Bama. No one else faces three different teams coming off a bye, though in fairness, Bama's bye comes before the LSU game as well.
- Toughest four game stretch (not counting bottom dwellers like KY & Vandy)? A few contenders: Florida (UTK, Ole Miss, at Mizzou, at LSU); Mississippi State (at Mizzou, Bama, at Arkansas, Ole Miss); Arkansas (at Ole Miss, at LSU, Miss. State, Mizzou); Auburn (at Arkansas, Ole Miss, at A&M, UGA); Bama (at UGA, Arkansas, at A&M, Tennessee); Texas A&M (Bama, at Ole Miss, SC, Auburn)
- Mississippi State wins the creampuff OOC schedule award- at Southern Miss, Northwestern State, Troy, & LA Tech. They also draw a pretty easy East rotation of Kentucky & Mizzou.
- South Carolina is the only team in the league playing more than one Power Five team OOC this season. They open with UNC in Charlotte, & close with Clemson in Columbia. Wow, pretty pathetic OOC scheduling on the whole for the league this year.
