Sorry I didn’t write up anything last night. Got busy with some folks in town and ran out of time.

-It’s hard to win a game when you get 3 hits. But we made them all count today. I think all of our runners who got to 2nd scored today. And I don’t believe that South Carolina had a guy get past 2nd all day. This felt like a major league game in that respect.

-Liked Ryan Webb a lot. He’s dirty. He threw a couple of beautiful curveballs today... almost like a 2-6 or even 2-7... sweeps all the way across the zone. Really high level looking stuff. He needs to be a bit more efficient, but that has an extremely bright future. He and Hancock are going to give us a duo like we haven’t had since Wood/ Palazzone.

-We had one strikeout offensively all day. Needless to say, that’s huge... and very few for the weekend... I say this knowing that we got 3 hits today, but this was as good of an offensive weekend as we’ve had in quite awhile.

-I thought the weather today really favored us. South Carolina only scored on (solo) home runs Saturday. They’ve hit a bunch this year. But today, with the wind and mainly the damp, heavy air, the ball just wasn’t carrying at all today. I thought that we were fine with that, but South Carolina didn’t seem to have much confidence in it.

-They can talk about their injuries and obviously that was a factor, but that’s not why we swept. We’re just better. Honestly, South Carolina reminded me a lot of us the last few years. Just something missing, something off. They play with as little confidence as I’ve ever seen from a South Carolina team. What happened this weekend had very little to do with Hill, Hopkins, or Stokes.

-I don’t mean this in a bad way, but I don’t know how Aaron Schunk gets outs. His stuff just look that good to me. But he’s certainly effective. He really locates. Guys know they have to swing against him.

-This really was the best weekend of the Scott Stricklin administration. Don’t let anyone tell you that South Carolina isn’t good or they’re hurt... we played really, really well this weekend. No astricks, no qualification... this team has so much to be proud of right now.
