-What a great game. That was my first one this year and first sporting event in person since the pandemic started. So it was really special in that respect. Was too long.

-1st inning for Webb was obviously a rough one, but he did a great job at minimizing it. I said during that you’d be happy getting out of it at 2-0. That made a huge difference later. It’s much different game, and probably one we don’t win, if Tennessee gets 4 runs that inning.

-We hit some balls hard off Heflin, just not a lot to show for it. The single for Anderson in his first AB was nice and I know he needed that.

-Parks Harbor is going to be special. Doesn’t take a lot to see that. I was really impressed by him at 3b too. That error was tough as the wind really played a trick on him, and I don’t think that reflects on what he is defensively.

-Other than the HR, Pasqua pitched well. And I was really impressed with Ben Harris. Need to get some more innings for that guy. And other than Webb’s first inning, he did a nice job too. Still too many walks overall, but it was a good game from the mound.

-We had too many first pitch outs at the plate. I think our 7th inning, we only saw like 6 pitches. It’s a fine line (the strike zone was very inconsistent today - that probably invited some early count swings)... you want to be aggressive, but not to the point of getting yourself out early in the AB. You can’t really put that on youth, either.

-Keeping Tennessee at 4 after the HR was huge. Pasqua and Harris were so good after that.

-I have to tip my cap to Shane Marshall. In that 9th inning, I’m jumping up and down saying “send Randon Jernigan up there if you’re set on bunting”... but Marshall got a beautiful bunt down - really couldn’t have placed it any better. I don’t know if he beat it at 1st (he sure thought he did) but he absolutely could not have layed down a better one.

-I’ll admit my hope was fading after Ben Anderson popped up the first pitch on the IF. Cole Tate hadn’t done much at the plate and it felt like Walsh had collected himself a bit during the review (I was worried about that happening and wished at the time they didn’t review it at all). Really good AB by Cole though... and it worked out perfectly, if he hits it a little harder the LF probably doesn’t allow the winning run to score.

Just a lot of fun overall. I don’t know how far this group can go, but I think they’re squeeze every drop out of this year, I really do.

Let’s get this series tomorrow. Been awhile since we’ve lost a weekend series and it’d be great to keep that streak going.
