Aiden Hutchinson, and ignored something that seemed more obvious to me... that Jamaree Salyer was and is DAMN GOOD. And this board couldn't stop focusing on how Hutchinson was still considered a top tier NFL prospect. The guy didn't win a Hendricks and Lombardi for no reason. The guy was on the NFL All Rookie Team for a reason. People just couldn't reconcile how AH could be good if Jamaree was dominating him. I've got news for everyone if they haven't figured it out yet, the stuff the talking heads (scouts, pundits, the people who assign stars to 17 year old kids) say, does matter, but actual football matters too.

Yes. football (on the field) matters. For years, I've watched people explain away Daijun Edwards. I won't even get into the myriad of qualifiers people use when he does something good. Yeah, he doesn't have top end speed, but he actually has something that most speedsters don't have (besides patience, vision and on and on, and it may be the most important tool a runningback could have)... the best dead-leg move you'll ever see. There is no scouting metric used to gauge it. And because it's not quantifiable in a meat market, combine type setting, people will disqualify it. But I'll bet you if there was a stat called Yards After Dead-Leg or YADL, his totals would be right there with the best YAC numbers. Daijun could be a very productive NFL runningback if given an opportunity. In fact, you can be a top ten rusher in The League without being an obvious unicorn like Chubb and Swift. Daijun, in the right scenario could be a 1200 yard NFL rusher. You don't have to have all the tools to excel at the RB position, you just have to have a couple (James Cook is having a pro bowl year right now). And don't disqualify Daijun because of what someone like Branson Robinson could do... Branson is one of those unicorns (his blocking is the only thing that would keep him from being a top 4 NFL back right now, besides the injury)... and I say that without blinking.

Yes, a healthy Milton with a head of steam, can finish off runs. In that regard he's elite. But I'm going to tell you something. I think people misunderstand some of the importance of pace changing RB's. It isn't as much about the running backs offering a different skill set, it's about offering a different feel. Daijun is hard to defend. Defenses have to be patient to defend him because he's so hard to track. Daijun puts a defense on their heels. If you get used to defending a Daijun, a Milton can come in and run over you because they are defending Daijun. Both backs compliment each other well. Milton's impact is obvious... I still don't think people get how impactful Edwards' contribution is, even though it's pretty prominent in the box score. I don't think we go the rest of the way without him.
