What can you tell us about Tech's newest and first commitment for 2016, unranked 3-star SF Christian Matthews from the DC area and how it effects where Shiloh HS Josh Okogie or Douglasville's Brandon Robinson might sign?
If this strangely lukewarm article about Matthews is accurate, Okogie looks to be a much better prospect who had been giving serious consideration to Tech. Does this mean that Okogie, who at 6'4" is slightly shorter than Matthews is not likely to sign with our rival? Or could either Okogie or Matthews also play 2G? Any word on how strong Tech is still pursuing Brandon? Is Gregory being on the hot seat making it hard for them to sign 2016 prospects? They look still to have several (4?) open slots to fill when all their seniors and grad transfers run out of eligibility.
Okogie seems to be getting good press late in the AAU season and he now lists a final five of
Florida, Tech, Kansas State, Tenn, and Tulsa. I thought I saw Dennis Felton tracking him at the summer tourneys for Tulsa. That offer list seems better than Tech's Matthews' list of NC St, Temple, Cinci, and DePaul.
I didn't get to see much of Okogie. How would you compare him to Brandon Robinson's game?
