Outside shooting may be our primary need in order to create court space and to increase our win total in future. Our successful recruiting historically comes when we target juniors who are ranked between 6th and 15th in-state and hope that they mature and improve enough to rise in rankings by the time they sign as seniors. I see five such candidates for 2018 who are listed below.

Dan, please jot down something about them from standpoint of how well they shoot the 3 and whether they can create their own shot as opposed to being only a catch and release guy. If you were choosing from among these five purely for their outside shooting abilities, which two or three would you pursue the hardest?

Dru Drinnon - 6'1" CG Pebblebrook, Adidas SC Supreme or Team Thad AAU

Landers Nolley - 6'5" SG Langston Hughes HS, Nike South Beach AAU (?), has said he likely won't commit until well after AAU season; likely to rise in rankings; exellent range; dad played at LSU

Nelson Phillips - 6'5" wing 2G/SF, Warner Robbins HS, Atlanta Xpress AAU

Trey Doomes - 6'3" CG Allatoona HS, Game Elite or Nike Team Fla

Rashun Williams - 6'6" SG/SF Calhoun Co. HS in Edison, Ga Stars

JoJo Toppin of Norcross , Justin Lee at Collins Hills, and Jamari Smith at Jonesboro seem more like second tier SFs than 2G shooters. All show upside and promise. Do any of these three possess the touch perhaps to fill the need for outside buckets? While I like him, I don't remember Toppin excelling on the perimeter. Which of these three SFs do you project to have best chance to rise in rankings to finish in a Top 10 slot.
