If Ramsey ultimately ends up winning the starting QB position after what seems will be a relatively tight competition between him & Bauta all summer, do you think that Richt/ Schotty would put in some short-yardage and/or red zone packages specifically for Bauta (i.e., zone read QB keeper, etc.)?
That package worked well for Florida w/ Tebow back in 2006 and more recently for Oklahoma w/ Blake Bell. Bauta brings a similar skill set that would be that much tougher to stop in those short down-and-distance or goal-to-go situations. I would think that package would make our offense that much more dynamic; the reverse just does not seem nearly as effective or plausible (i.e., Bauta starts; passing packages for Ramsey).
Could you see that happening? Or do you think our coaches will protect our #2 QB from injury at all costs?
