Seven former Bulldogs have appeared in the Major Leagues this season and another 14 are working their way up this year.

The Bulldogs who have played in the Majors this season include pitcher Jonathan Cannon (Chicago White Sox), infielder Kyle Farmer (Minnesota), pitcher Emerson Hancock (Seattle), pitcher Zac Kristofak (Los Angeles Angels), infielder Aaron Schunk (Colorado), infielder Jared Walsh (Texas) and pitcher Alex Wood (Oakland).

Currently, Cannon is in the White Sox starting rotation while Schunk has appeared in 14 games for the Rockies playing second base, third base and shortstop. Farmer and Wood are on the injured list while Hancock is in Triple-A Tacoma. Farmer (right shoulder strain) is due back soon while Wood (1-3, 5.26 ERA, nine starts) is battling rotator cuff tendonitis. Kristofak, who had Tommy John surgery in May, and Walsh, are free agents.

Five Bulldogs off the 2024 team signed this month. They are in mini camps with their respective organizations. Outfielder/infielder Charlie Condon (Colorado/1st Round, 3rd overall), Infielder/outfielder Corey Collins (New York Mets/6th Round) and catcher Fernando Gonzalez (San Francisco/20th round) were selected in the annual MLB Draft while pitchers Chandler Marsh (New York Mets) and Christian Mracna (Toronto) signed as free agents this past Monday.

According to Jim Callis of MLB.com, Condon signed for a reported $9.25 million, and that ties the all-time MLB Draft bonus record. Pitcher Chase Burns, the No. 2 pick in this year’s draft, received that amount from the Cincinnati Reds.
