Carson Beck can make a lot of history this year, especially with the possibility of a 3-peat. But he's trying to do something that has been elusive to the Dawgs in the last 57 years -- win an SEC Championship with a QB who is NOT from the state of Georgia.

1968 - Mike Cavan
1976 - Ray Goff
1980-81 - Buck Belue
1982 - John Lastinger
2002 - David Greene
2005 - DJ Shockley
2017 - Jake Fromm
2022 - Stetson Bennett IV

The last one was Kirby Moore, from Dothan, AL, in 1966. We've had some mighty good QBs from out of state in over the years, too. Stafford and Murray immediately come to mind. Eason was, of course, a 5-star recruit. For whatever reason, it has been a "thing" for us. Here's hoping Carson starts breaks another streak.
