So, I do a Sunday night stat dive. It’s hard only 3 weeks into the season. There only 2 teams in the top 9 in total defense who have played 2 power 4 teams yet: 8 Georgia and 9 Kentucky.
1 Ohio State - Akron & Western Michigan
2 Tennessee - Chattanooga, NCSU, Kent St
3 Indiana - FIU, Western Illinois, UCLA
4 Mizzou - Murray St, Buffalo, BC
5 Minnesota - UNC, Rhode Island, Nevada
6 Miami- Fla, FAMU, Ball St
7 Louisville- Austin Peay & Jax St
8 UGA - Clemson, Tenn Tech, Kentucky
9 UK - So. Miss, South Carolina, UGA
Kirby said in his PC he thought UK had a pretty good defense. I think Kirby probably knows what he’s talking about.
Just a hunch.
Let’s let it play out. That may be the best defense we play all season. It may not be, but you just don’t know what you don’t know in week 3.
