Did we recruit the qb now starting for Clemson? If yes, did...

we recruit him as a TE, punter, or what? If we recruited him as a QB, what happened?

Yep, Bobo was the one recruiting him. He was a dual purpose QB, so that probably meant we told him he would be given a shot at QB and would probably end up at WR. It worked out for us okay though, because we had just signed Brice Ramsey the year before.o_O

Yes we recruited him but he saw first hand that he could not hold up to the caliber of QBs we have on campus so he went elsewhere.

Both your posts gave me a much-needed laugh this afternoon. Thank you. I can tell your level of frustration is on a par with mine.

I hear what you guys are saying but Clemson runs a spread option offense. not really similar to our pro style offense. I'm not sure a QB like Watson would fit into our system and wouldn't want to fit it if there are multitudes of schools using the spread offense. Obviously our offense favors the traditional drop back type qb. I've been on the fence about the spread option but with some of our offensive problems I'm starting to wonder if we shouldn't look at something a bit more cutting edge.

That's not going to happen. Richt is extremely adverse to doing anything different or adjusting on the fly. It's not in him. He will live or die with his system.

With more and more HS running the spread...eventually the drop back QB will become extinct

HS kids go to college where the system fits...then they think of the NFL while in college...they really don't think about the NFL on signing day...
