probably a bit of both....and now will be followed by media overreaction, i'm sure
I looked at it and I must say I glad it's start to finish type things . College student resisted but also think the officer was out of line using a impact weapon ( baton) . There were serval blows with it , that I thought were uncalled for .
That happens when your out of shape . The officer stated to the sgt that he sprayed him , I didn't see that .
Now what happens to the officer , I think the officer needs to be on a fitness program and retrain on using the impact weapon . He may or may not have bigger issues .
I can't believe he did not have taser . I think there a lot blame to go around .

Also sounded like that officer has no business being on the police force in the shape he's in.
A bit of an overreaction, but it's another case of what can happen when you don't comply with a lawful order from a cop. The site that originally posted the story seems to have exaggerated a bit:
In his initial report, Fraser made mention that Roquet had struck him, and that is why he used excessive force. This video shows that Fraser was lying.
Did the video show that he was lying? Once the situation got to that point, I couldn't really tell what was going on. Another report described the kid as "helpless." He may have been unarmed, but that's not quite the same thing as helpless.
The cop should have let the idiot go to bed and sleep it off. That said, reactions by many posters would be very different if a black guy with braids had acted in the exact same way that guy did. Even if it had ended in the guy getting shot many would have argued it was his fault for not obeying commands.
Anyone can tell you I have always spoke the truth about police matters no matter if they were out of line. When I can see the whole action I call it .
