It sucks to get this close and not make the CWS. It sucks that Condon didn’t exactly have the last game we all wanted him to have (he isn’t Superman).
But I am so glad that Charlie’s last at bat in a Georgia uniform was a dinger in front of Kudzu Hill. That wasn’t meaningless. He is the greatest Georgia baseball player ever.
No one ever expected Georgia to earn a post-season berth. Remember that Dash said a successful season would be playing at Hoover with a shot to make a regional. Well this team exceeded that expectation and not only made a regional but they earned a #7 national seed and were so close to reaching the CWS.
There is a lot to be hopeful about. Wes Johnson is the right man to get Georgia back to Omaha. And we have critical upgrades coming to Foley that start tomorrow. It’ll be a different place next year.
Be disappointed. It means a new standard has been set. But be hopeful and excited because a new standard has been set.
