I agree whole heartedly that the worst thing to happen for this weekend was Miss State getting swept last weekend. Similar thing happened in 2016. Texas A&M got swept at Florida and then had us in College Station the next weekend. It didn’t go well for us, at all... and that happens.
Just hope Schunk can get back soon. We really need some other guys to step on offensively. It’s easy to point to Emerson Hancock being out, but the reality is that we just didn’t score enough this weekend. The rally was good today, and I’m not trying to diminish that, but they’re also going to pitch Biggar and Maxwell and Talley differently in those spots if they’re the tying run. The 9th inning today did make things look a little better, but this wasn’t a good offensive weekend at all.
If Schunk is going to miss extended time, I’d like to see us go Riley King at 3b and Conner Tate or Randon Jernigan in the other OF spot. Maybe we get a spark there, but again, let’s just hope Schunk gets back soon...
Gotta regroup. Funny how last year we played The Citadel off a four game losing streak and “got right” to some extent beating those guys.
