You finally fire Richt and your first choice to replace him is a guy who has never been a head coach. The people who run your football program are too stupid to be real

I agree; a top 5 job hiring a coordinator rather than a proven HC. Unbelievable!

The Top Assistant for many years under the most Successful Coach in Modern Football History... Lets poke holes in it. hmmm

B. Snyder was never HC until 11/30/88.

Well?

Other assistants under Saban: Derek Dooley and Will Muschamp. How did their head coaching careers work out?

You guys are idiots......... assistant for Saban at LSU, dolphins, and defensive coordinator at Alabama for 7 years. And you don't think he's ready?

Then go find another team to pull for. You're going to look like an idiot if he does a great job. I can't believe we have people already attacking our new coach, and one of own on top of it.

Every HC was an assistant ... someone took a chance on everyone of them...there is just as much of a risk taking an established HC as an AC...

Donnan, Golden Gill, etc...previous HC's and flunked...even Friedgen and Weis didn't pan out so well..and their resumes indicated they should've done better...

So let's go with it and see what happens...

Hahahaha. Smart has basically the exact same resume as Richt had when hired, except from the defensive sided of the ball. You all LOVE Richt, but think Smart has no chance? What gives?

Look at Charlie Strong. Did he work out for Texas? What about Chris Petersen at Washington. Unless you're hiring Nick Saban or Urban Meyer, every choice is a gamble.

Mark Richt was an assistant. Worked out fine for about 7-8 years. Bob Stoops seems to have worked out fine. So did Jimbo Fisher.
