Jackson is the cherry on top in our class. He's proven himself again and again against elite talent on the camp and all-star game circuit. And he's finally getting his due from a rankings standpoint - as he's arguably the best man to man shutdown CB in the entire 2015 class. Pruitt knows what elite CB talent looks like, and saw it early in Jackson as we were one of the very first to offer. We need this guy badly with our current roster at CB - honestly, if there's a better depth chart situation at a major SEC power, I'd like to see it.
Also, look at what Pruitt was able to do with a patchwork secondary in year one. Swann's getting rave reviews from NFL guys from his performance this week. The difference between Swann before and after Pruitt's arrival is night and day. I just can't stop thinking about what Pruitt would be able to do with an elite talent like Jackson, and his ability to lock down top WRs. As long as Jackson comes in and busts his tail, there's no reason why he can't play a ton against ULM to open next season. Shoot, he's got a great chance to start game one. We need that 3 and done, 1st round NFL draft pick at CB to really blow the top off defensive back recruiting. Jackson is that important to this class. He's not only a day one player, which we desperately need next season, but he could be that future top pick that puts UGA on the map for stud CBs in the future.
This is our biggest OV in this class IMO. I've being hitting the refresh button waiting on news to come out on Jackson's visit. I don't like using the term "must get," but Jackson is as close as you'll get with our current depth chart, and his ability to impact the game, not only on defense but also as a punt/kick returner and offensive specialist. We could easily design a handful of offensive plays for him (speed sweeps, zone reads, reverses, screens, slot, etc...). A guy like Schotty could get so creative with Jackson. Playmaker!
I keep having flashbacks of Branden Smith's reverse TD against USC when I think about Jackson's offensive potential at UGA (LINKED below). Sanford was rocking! The crazy thing is that Jackson is faster.
We need Jackson, guys. We need Pruitt to land him like he did Jalen Ramsey at FSU.
