His high school coach said he's going to UGA. Who knows how much weight that carries. Either way, he's an 18 year old kid.
So now his last minute visit to see Eason and family and others seem to take on new meaning? Or not.
Maybe. Also His statement Monday about wanting to call plays and coach QBs could have been calculated to leverage both Eason and Miami's deciders.
Ok that's it stop Eason is not going to Miami he probley sea the field in 1 year with brad kyaa sphmore even then Richt being Richt would start a senior over him.
Would like Eason to come but I am getting tired of the drama. We will have a top knotch oc here and playing in the sec is exponentially more gratifing than the almost competitive conference.

Richt never sat an underclassman QB who He deemed ready to start just because He had a senior on roster. Greene, Stafford, Murray, any of those names ring a bell ? Between them They started 11 out of Richt's 15 seasons in Athens.
Um stafford did start his freshman year Richt was a idiot 2009 Muray did not start idiot Greene is the only case

Murray started his RS freshman season..when he was deemed ready. Richt started Greene his rs freshman year as well, which of course was Richt's first season as HC. Those 3 guys started for 11 seasons between them, I doubt any other CFB team can match it during Richt's tenure.
I am more interested in how Smart addresses the O- line then which freshman qb is coming in. We got pushed around by Ga Southern, I don't think Eason would be a quick fix for the offense. Alabama has won a lot of games under Saban with ok qbs and pretty solid O-line play. If Kirby addresses that (and it will probably take more than a year) I think we don't have to rely on a 5 star next great thing qb just to run our offense.
Here's a novel concept - maybe this staff will find players (maybe even a QB) and actually DEVELOP their talent...
Ummmm, JT3 started over Stafford, and Stafford came in during the SC game. Stafford, on a bad day, was better than JT3 anyday.
I realize all that. Let's face it though, MS probably NEEDED to RS. If JT3 hadn't struggled Matthew might have hit the field running as a rs freshman. Instead he really struggled other than The Auburn game his true freshman year.

The true player is UF. He reconnected with FLA's OC Doug Nussemier after Ga/FLA game when all the speculation started. They said it was for "just in case" richt is fired. Richt got fired Sunday. Eason was in Gainsville on Monday to visit til Wednesday. But he decided to make a 3 day trip a 5 day trip and stay til Friday. FLA QB situation stinks. He's watching their practice for SEC title game probably thinking there's noway Treon Harris will start over him as a freshman.

2) He immediately went to visit FL for a whole week (on his own dime).
3) FL is in the SEC
4) They run a pro-style offence
5) They dont have a QB = Immediate playing time.

He committed to play for Mark Richt.
Richt is now in Miami and will coach QBs.
Florida for a week in Dec vs Washington St, there are reasons beyond football for a healthy young man to stay a bit longer than originally planned.
Good points though, I won't be at all surprised if He signs with UGA. UF or Miami.
Big difference, Knowshon was ready his true freshman season, Stafford was nowhere near ready. It would have been better for MS to have taken that first year to acclimate and prepare.

There is no way that Jacob Eason is going somewhere to redshirt. Although that would be the CMR thing to do. If Eason is as good as he is being touted (big IF) then he would only play for a team for 2 years if he RS'd.
Eason is widely known throughout recruiting circles and those in the know to absolutely hate jorts. Although the acid wash on the new Nike Pro Combat Jorts is admittedly pretty sweet, they are not something that interest Jacob Eason.
He may not, but i would bet he is saying "no redshirt." If that possibility exists, I would bet he doesn't go to that school. Now, he may be a bust, but right now, he is more in control of his destiny than he will be the next 3-4 years.
How do you feel about the new acid wash on the Nike Pro Combat Jorts that UF will be wearing in 2016? More importantly, how do you feel about Uranus as a whole?
I've already made the point Stafford played his freshman year because of a lack of good options, not because he was ready. Knowshon's situation was completely different.
MS wasn't ''light years'' better than ANY college QB his freshman year, he was bad for the most part. He had moments like the Auburn game where He showed his potential though.
He has no meaningful obligation to UGA now that Richt is gone. He said from day one that could change his decision.
If He comes, it should be because He wants to/feels it's the best decision.
I think if Kirby sells him on the offense He plans to install, He'll likely enroll in a few weeks. If He doesn't, bye bye and good luck.
