fall for travel ball. They finished # 1 in perfect game ranking for 18U this summer and only lost one game I believe to the East Cobb Astros. Danny Hall is at there games all the time b/c of his sons but I am sure kids look at that as a plus when deciding to join the ECY. They brought on 3 solid players this Fall with the Whilite twins who played for Team Elite Prime and Zay Curry the East Cobb Astros all committed to GT and now are on the Yankees...Z Curry is a 2017 kid but is a stud and more than likely not going to college. ECY were not that solid this Fall but sure they will load up next summer.
I just got back from the WWBA World Championships for 18U in Jupiter Florida and the talent at this event was sick....Scouts from the Major Leagues and a large number of College Scouts go to this event every year and is where a player that plays well on any given game will get immediately approached by colleges or the MLB draft. Unfortunately my son plays for the East Cobb Astros and we did not play very well this past week but did get to see what SEC colleges were there and AU with new head Coach Butch Thompson the pitching coach from Miss St , Ole Miss, VU, Fla, Mizzu and many more were all over the place and hate to say that I did not see much of UGA... but find it hard to believe they were not there? just did not see them as much.
I can tell you looking at the recruiting of where the top kids are going Vandy is in a good position to continue there dominance and hate to say UGA and Stricklin are getting there asses kicked right now. CSS does seam to have some in roads with Team Elite Organization but for East Cobb he just does not seem to be making much of an impact and players just do not seem to have them high on list as other SEC and ACC schools do at this point. I can honestly say being around the travel circuit and the fact my son plays 18U at East Cobb UGA is really going to struggle and as I have said before I hope I am wrong and maybe the kids signing with UGA become something bigger once on campus but until that happens we will be in the middle or lower end of the SEC.
