Ya gotta at least grift enough to answer an email.
It’s not always what it seems to be, usually there are reasons. One thing is probably for sure, most are more than likely paying attention.

Probably a big difference than before.

Basic HR stuff - this is how you document job abandonment.

damn, hadn't even thought of that
Might not have to worry if you are physically showing up to work. This is just for those that are not showing up & typically it’s not one email it’s a list of items. Haven’t shown up to work, attend the meeting, return the call, email - as stated basic HR documenting - like a PIP.’Not sure why we are equating someone's importance, qualifications and ability / willingness to do their job by them checking their email. As a general aviation pilot, I know several that work in ATC - most work 6 days a week as that is required due to the shortage. Some haven't logged into email in months because they don't have time. Not all employees are desk workers just answering emails all day. Pure stupidity.

Also - just texted one asking - his response “I hope the 10 people working in the MylT office are ready tomorrow. If they actually make us send emails they will be getting probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,000-10,000 phone calls to either reset or create new email passwords for dormant accounts.”

ATC.? Did we jump the track on where Elon is? This is so last week, or was it the week before?
Listen to that… see how many emails you can answer in a day where that is nonstop, 6 days a week. They get an average of 20-30 hours of OT per 2 week paycheck. One of the most stressful jobs in the world. Avg ATC only lasts 15-20 years.
You think TSA is just hanging out at a desk answering emails? Hell no. They are actively doing their job - and many countries from around the world send their people to the US as we train other countries TSA equivalent. You might hate them on travel day, but it’s the standard.
I bet this Elon accusation will turn out to be as accurate as almost all of the other Elon accusations.
Quiet Quitters deserve to get it good and hard. (Except when I quiet quit LOL)Work from home Quiet Quitters will be loudly terminated.
Anytime he wants to start finding some fraud, I am all ears. Think the rest of the country is too

Is it really asking too much from someone to respond to an email? How long can it possibly take?

I see most of you have no clue and just going with baseless claims. I, for one, have served 24 years in the military. I was a GS employee for 6 years and have seen a lot of BS. I can say for a fact 90% of government employees work very hard and don't just sit home and do nothing. In actuality, there are more things in place to measure work than in the office.
