had a better approach in our hitting last night vs the Vandy series. Yes, we scored well vs Vandy but we just appeared to be in a different mindset last night.
I went to the Friday game. When our guys came up in the late innings, they were swinging for the friggin Tennis Courts on every swing. If we needed a run and had someone on base, the hitter would torq out of his shoes trying to win the game.
Last night we were down 2-1 in the 8th. The hit that scored the tieing run was perfect. Just a compact, power swing to punch the ball down the middle. Same thing for getting our guys around the bases in the 9th. All about timely hitting and taking what the pitcher is giving you.
WIth our speed, if we can dink the ball, we can score and run through some opponents pitching. Loved the appearance of change last night!
