By now most will know of the story of Erik's TWO heart transplants and his amazing courage to overcome every challenge thrown his way. The biggest challenge for him today is he shoots an opening round Chris Burnette 62 and you won't be seeing it even in GOLF headlines. That's because some guy whose Mama named him Eldrick shot 64 and that will be the lead on the network NEWS in some places.
So here is what is so cool about Compton's round (other than the obvious fact that he shot 62). He was only -1 after his first nine holes (he played the back 9 first), then he birdied 7 holes on his second 9 for a Danny Ware 28!!! Of his 8 birdies today (course is par 70), 6 of his putts made were inside 5 feet 1 inch. That's knocking down some flag sticks!
Here's pulling for on DGD to break through and get his first PGA tour victory this weekend!
