To deny that wasn't a large factor in the hate of Christian Laettner would be incredibly stupid and shortsighted.
As someone who basically lived on basketball courts during those years i can attest that Duke was synomous with white and with black guys who "wanted" to be white. It didn't matter if I played on courts in nice areas or the projects it was the same.

I really didn't even hate it, nor Jalen Rose, who was somehow about the only one to come out of the thing seeming likable at all, especially compared to Chris 'I still won't talk about the timeout' Webber.
