My thoughts:
1. Of course family first. Everyone's family should be first..
2. BUT, like it or not, pro baseball is a job. When your boss says you can't bring your kid to work everyday, that's his right.
3. A major league clubhouse is no place for a kid...every day.
4. Sure, I think it's cool for anyone to bring their kid to work on occasion. Maybe even for a certain amount of time weekly. But, everyday? It's a distraction.
5. It LaRoche's decision to retire and good for him. But, don't make the White Sox out to be bad guys over it.
6. Regardless of what you're reading in the media, my guess is the players had a hand in this too. I'm betting many of them complained about having a kid in the clubhouse daily.
