As always with politicians and bureaucrats, the question whether they will abuse their power it’s not if but when. You never give them this kind or authority because it will be abused. I don’t give a shit what noble purpose they claim this data collection will be for, it will ultimately lead to a set of information that can be used against any citizens who oppose the establishment. Just like the NSA unmasking phone calls of that’s deemed a threat to the establishment’s power. Many people fall into the trap of thinking well I’m not doing anything wrong, so it won’t impact me.
Remember when the PBS debate moderator grilled him on taxes? Me neither.

The 4th Amendment and the principle of due process is my problem with it.
The same people who are cool with the IRS all up in your grill are the same ones who demand the Govt stay out of their bedroom. Reconcile that.
