apparently, Pruitt was used to showing up at work at 7:00AM and being ready to work at 8:00AM... and, that wasn't consistent across the rest of the staff. Starting telling anyone who'd listen what was wrong... and folks got testy.

Pruitt is already recruiting Derrick Brown among others. I can't help but think Saban is picking KS's pockets, which of course is OUR pockets as well.
Brown is very close to Rocker, but Kirby is being ''mentored'' not to worry about recruiting, just take His time with hiring. Now I wonder who this Yoda is advising him ? He needs a GD DL coach in place yesterday.

Now you know why Kirby Smart is not retaining a lot of guys. Smart was never going to keep Pruitt because this is going to be his defense his way.

Kirby must have sunshine being pumped up his ass to let Pruitt go to recruit for Bama while he's also there coaching the defense.
I'm afraid Saban is still schooling HIS BOY.
This while He's being ''mentored'' not to rush hires and Pruitt is stealing Derrick Brown out from under his nose. Brown was being recruited by Rocker, yet Rocker wasn't recruiting last week, but Pruitt was.
This is messed up.

Imagine how confused Derrick Brown must be... Lol!

It's year 1 of the Smart Era... Let's keep it real but it is nonetheless entertaining!

The sooner He gets Saban out of His ear the better. I think He'll realize the Master has bested him, that might be His biggest lesson in being the man in charge. This is right in Saban's wheelhouse, the devious little prick.

I could give less than a shit about your worthless opinion. So you need not bother responding to my post.

I tried to take pity after reading your addled post. You can lead a horse's ass to water.

Sorry, I've got no use for someone who actively roots against our new coaches, and thinks he's an expert on everything and knows exactly what is going on behind the scenes. The funny thing is you think you know more than Smart.

You were better off with your "GFY" post. I've also got no use for your pity. Pity yourself.

If only we would have had someone who could have determined when these assistant coaches should start work and get everyone on the same page from day one. Like a head coach or something.

Richt was probably letting guys see their kids off to school and show up for work around 9 or 9:30. Rings collect dust.

You're right. The buck always stops with the head man.

I don't necessarily have a problem with them coming in later in the morning. After all, most go till very late at night. The problem here is Pruitt mad a choice and his boss didn't know how to contain the issue either way. Either 1, set a time, or 2, if the time is later than Pruitt comes in or isn't set...Pruitt does need to know his role. There can only be one boss.

What would the ass end of a horse do with water? More importantly, who'd be enough of a dumbass to point said horse's ass towards water instead of his head? So confusing...

Pruitt is rushing into the vacuum that is UGA to scoop up as many recruits as he can. Not just Brown. https://www.dawgnation.com/football/recruiting/uga-commit-uncertain-about-his-status
Nice of Kirby to work with the Tide D to free up Pruitt to devote all his time to picking off UGA commits.

I'm sure Nick appreciates the parting goodwill gesture by his loyal aide de camp. Just call it a going away gift that will keep on giving for at least the next four years till the recruits Pruitt steals are no longer rolling with the Tide.

UGA got played, no doubt about it. Nothing to do but wait until Alabama's season is over.

This is Bama's way of paying us back for them hiring J.B. "Ears" Whitworth as head football coach off the UGA staff.

NewNot sure it matters. Pruitt, like Smart, can't touch a recruit now unless FA papers have been signed for the school
/QUOTE]

Touch? No.

Contact? Yes. Pruitt can devote full time to phoning and texting his contact list. Kirby, not so much. Hopefully enough to keep commits he wants in the fold. Eason was a good start.

Dead period now. Why all the worry about Brown? He would have under preformed with the old staff anyway. Brown is a big boy, but has a LONG way to go to be a starter in the SEC. Kirby needs to focus on staff first then recruiting.

You can't tell this crowd that. Many are looking for any excuse to knock the hire of KS. Arm-chair QBs that state the obvious and never have an original thought.

I thought it was a complete dead period, no contact unless FA papers signed.

That's a common misperception. The name "dead period" seems more restrictive than it is.

Dead period

The dead period is the most restrictive. No in-person contact is allowed, even if a prospect makes a visit to the college campus. Written and electronic communications and phone calls are still permitted.

Team looked like it was coached by part timers. I suspect Pruitt was right. I wonder how much golf was played
