On a scale of 1-10, how much would flying with our 2 year old from NYC to London suck . We are debating the trip for next July.

She's never been on a plane, let alone for that long.

Assuming it’s Coach? It won’t be unicorns and lollipops, but it won’t be horrible. NYC/London is only 6 hours, and overnight. Let her runout energy in terminal, put some movies on the IPad, and she will likely sleep.

Put the armrests up, and she will be asleep in y’all’s lap for most of it.

Oh, and seriously, a preemptive dose of Benadryl will have double value: drowsiness and break up any congestion that might create ear pressure.

Not that bad,... I would recommend learning the train stations if you spend several days in london or go uber,...renting a car in London is perilous as their are street cameras on every block,...you will be charged 15 pound per day if a camera catches you in certain areas of London because of the penalty of making the air of London dirty with your car emissions,..and no free parking,...you will pay 50 pound a day in downtown London to park a car their,..hotels do not include parking for hotel guests,...

They are anti car there, subway is the way to go

Go on a short flight roundtrip to get the first flight jitters and plan.

my second child (at age 2) was a complete mess on her first flight, delta row 1 ATL to MCO, and was 50% better on return flight.

next flight, months later … perfect and she remains perfect since… now age 5

a trial run to disney for example is valuable for all parties.
