is off to quite a start with Missouri.

McClain redshirted on the 2012 team. I'll be honest, I didn't think he'd ever pitch at this level. He just wasn't on the same level as some of the other freshman on that team (Pete Nagel, Luke Crumley, David Sosebee, and Jarrett Brown all were far more impressive that fall and January). McClain spent 2013 at Manatee CC and sat out last year for Missouri. So, he's a 4th year junior now. He was Missouri's Opening Day starter.

Anyway, on the season, he's made 2 starts and thrown 17 innings and posted 14 K's, no walks, 7 hits, and 0 runs. The two starts came against Iona at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary North Carolina last weekend and Sam Houston State at Corpus Cristi, Texas this weekend. I don't imagine anyone in the country has thrown more than 17 innings this year.... Great start for the guy and I'm glad he landed on his feet.
