Georgia’s J.J. Frazier and Yante Maten both were named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s All-District team on Tuesday. Frazier and Maten were among 10 recognized as the top players in District IV, which includes student-athletes from the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida.
Frazier and Maten are UGA’s eighth and ninth USBWA All-District team selections since 2003 and the first Bulldogs honored in the same season since 2003. Previous recent All-District picks include Marcus Thornton in 2015, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in 2013, Trey Thompkins in both 2010 and 2011, Rashad Wright in 2004 and Jarvis Hayes and Ezra Williams in 2003.
