So almost to the day criticism of Richt really heats up, all of these stories centered on the DC start being filtered out of The AD building. This is naked scape goating, and it's working.

The issues we started out the week being critical of have absolutely nothing to do with the DC, yet somehow the conversation has been manipulated to suggest HE is the cause of the ''dysfunction''.
I don't see problems with Pruitt's staff, the defensive coaches seem to work together very well, and recruiting on that side of the ball clearly shows players are on board with the direction he's taking them.

What I think is going on is Pruitt stepped on some toes when he pushed for needed improvements to the program, Richt has become defensive and angry at CP so he is allowing them to turn loose on him.

I think we get it. You really like Pruitt. But you need to come to grips with the fact that he will be gone. There is plenty of criticism to go around but BM is managing a dumpster fire. But, they are not going to throw CMR under the bus.

I get it too, many of you are easily manipulated.

When you are a subordinate in any organization, you need to stay in your lane, do your job, and be loyal to your superiors and subordinates alike. By this measure, Pruittis doing only one of the three.

No one appointed Pruitt as the caretaker or the savior of the Georgia football program. No one is asking him to take over that role. Everybody from McGarity to Richt to the student managers to the newbie fans knows that the offense is the problem. There are people higher up the UGA chain of command who have the duty and the responsibility to address the problem.

Pruitt probably got an attitude adjustment from CMR, McGarity, and Morehead yesterday. He just needs to stay in his lane, coach up the defense, and settle down.

You at least have to support your boss even if you are going against the higher level management. Hopefully CJP grew up yesterday and realized what was going on and could make amends by end of year but seems like not going to happen.

if Pruitt had ''stayed in his lane'' we would still be 10 years behind programs like Bama's. He is responsible for adding personel behind the scenes, rebuilding our S&T program, expanding our recruiting territory, getting the IPF project moving, etc.
While he was busy program building he has managed to almost finish putting maybe the best group of DLs together in UGA history, certainly since Richt has been here.
So I can see he has been a terrible influence on our lazy complacent program. I'm sure the lazy slobs are eager to get back to their golf and soap operas.

He was hired to coach the defense. Nobody asked him to take over other aspects of football operations, nor did anyone make him the spokesman for priority facility construction. All he accomplished was to embarrass his boss and his boss's superior. The athletic department went ahead with the IPF with the thought that maybe that would appease Pruitt. Unfortunately, I think it made things worse.

If you think the University of Alabama's football program is the ideal, why not change your allegiance? It'd certainly alleviate your frustration and you can have the added benefit of Pruitt being on staff next season.

So the awful oc is safe and the best coach is not. What a mess. I just don't see a path out of this without a complete change. Any scenario we can get through this without a reboot?

The only way I see to keep Richt without further damaging the program would be to make peace with CP, keep his staff and replace the offensive staff with a proven DYNAMIC college OC and let him hire his own people.

If that isn't going to happen we need to hire a new HC, if he wants to keep this defensive staff..great.

What new head coach would want to keep a snake on his staff?

Just out of curiousity..... If you are a fan of UGA, why do you call our facility by that name?

Don't have a problem with your opinion on the subject, but the maturity level reagarding the name reeks immaturity. I mean, honestly.

Fans can cuss and spit and opine, but why insult the very nature of the school you love?

Would love to know.

You would have criticized my point whether I used Steve Patterson's ''buttsmear'' term or not. It's what you do.
Edit. the term ''buttsmear'' may have come from the owner of TOS now that I think about it. Either way, I got it from one or the other years ago. It seems more appropriate now for some reason.

Actually, Pruitt had nothing to do with that. In Feb of last year, ADGM had already proposed to the board and requested funding for the research on the project. In Sept's meeting (last year), they approved the $400,000 for the studies. (with the terrain, located with a school across the street, etc. pretty much landlocked, there were many issues)

In Dec Pruitt said to press it would be ready this summer. THAT was his big mistake. There was no way it would be and it was not his job to say such a thing. He put not only the admin (Morehead, McG, etc)in a terrible situation to explain, but the AA board too.

He does not seem to know his place. Sure, GA could throw up an airplane hangar and have ready by summer as many have, but we don't do that. Even the short IPF that opened in 2011 (5 mos after ADGM got here) is state of the art. Adams, Damon and to some extent, CMR, did a great job on it, although, not adequate.

The AD had funded research feasibility on an IPF over 10 years ago. Everybody expected it to drag on for years this time as well. McGarity even suggested it would take a long time to wade through the process. What Pruitt did is light a fire under the process and likely moved it forward by years.

You make a valid point. Except that I don't criticized your point, as you and anyone else us free to have their own opinion.

I do question it though as it always comes from a liberal progressive view.

I throw you an olive branch occasionally. Because there are some liberal progressive issue I agree with you on.

Try it sometimes with your conservative friends. That way you don't come across as just some blind and deaf liberal hack....

Just kidding.......really.

Try not seeing everything in political terms, it might make you seem less obsessive. What does THIS subject have to do with political orientation ? other than the politics at Buttsmear of course.

If you say so. Pretty sure that IPF feasibility was done once the IPF that opened in 2011 happened.

It was done twice before. Once was back around 2005, there are drawings still on file. Then again when the little joke was attached to Buttsmear, this is the third go round.
