I never have much inside info, and can honestly say I have very little connections to the Diamond Dawgs (other than watching and keeping up with our record).
That said, I happen to have a good convo with an Atlanta area coach who is deeply connected in the Atlanta baseball scene, and knows some players and our coaches very well.
Overall feeling is that the team was surprised that Stricklin was retained, and that a lot of guys were "luke warm" with Stricklin.
The good news is that the team seems to really like the new coaches that were brought in (especially Sean Kenny) and that the mood amongst the players is a lot more positive now, than at the end of the season.
Everyone knows its put up, or shut up time for this staff.
