I won't pretend to be as clever at @kckd so I'm just going to post some in their raw form. This will only be a small sample as their entire board is pretty much tears right now. Drink up ladies and gents!
"Morning. Only reason I’m putting in a post today is because I’ve received countless DM‘s. Thanks for reaching out. I’m gonna take a few days off and just ponder everything before responding. So please don’t think I am ignoring you.
As Jason said, we do not have our heads in the sand. We all see it. Yesterday was alarming. To be 100% honest, there were times when I felt like a 13 year old playing video games could have made better decisions. Helter skelter at the end of regulation, when all you had to do was spike the ball, calm your kicker, and win the damn game; #3 not starting, and disappearing for huge periods of time during the game; not putting a competent spy on their quarterback when everyone in the stadium knew who was going to run the ball; another round of unspecial teams with botches and 10 men being on the field again; clock management concerns; playcalling, decisions; etc. I am not going to rehash that, because it will just piss me off more. But understand, I saw it just like you did.
Just remember, some people have made huge investments in the program. None were happy yesterday. And that is a huge understatement. There was no sunshine pumping. We all saw what you saw. Investors are not stupid people. What’s going to happen? Right now, I don’t know. I don’t think anyone does. But I can tell you this: the status quo is not an option.
Those of you who know me know that it takes a while for me to get over these types of things. So I’m gonna be quiet for a bit. I’m not gonna be reading the posts here, even though I get the anger and believe it is justified after yesterday. But if I read it, the “recovery time” will just be extended.
I was able to spend a lot of time yesterday with Higgy, SR, Blake, Heisman and others which was the highlight of the day. After a huge setback, it’s nice to be around Gator family.
Even better, I was able to hang out with and spend some time with many of the great Gators on this board. It was nice meeting everyone. This is a special place.
All you can do is hang in there. Kind of feels like my feet are touching rock-bottom.
KC"
"thanks KC. Hard to come back when investors are not happy. Going to be a real interesting off-season. I think at this point everyone is just hoping we hang on to Lagway and the majority of this recruiting class. If we lose Lagway it’s going to be real hard to give him another year and we are going to be irrelevant for another 3-4 years minimum"
"No one wants Billy to fail (yes even some of the most critical posters on here) because restarting is not optimal in any way. Not too mention Lagway is the most important recruit since Timmy.
But unfortunately like you mentioned KC our eyes are not deceiving us and the consistency at which these errors are occurring are very alarming. We’ve seen this same thing play out multiple times with coaches.
It just sucks to be here again. Hopefully Lagway is still locked in cause that’s all I care about at this point.
Also a big thank you again for what all of you do for UF."
"Nasir Johnson wearing Georgia gloves, Amaris missed his flight (yeah right), Filsaime visited usc. It’s already beginning."
"Player development so far has been poor, we certainly aren't in contention for any titles and outside of bottom feeders and 1 outlier with UT we aren't competitive. So even using those absurd metrics for success (instead of winning games), this staff is failing."
"According to Napier, he is fulfilling his obligations:
“Ultimately our job is to develop football players and field a team that can be competitive and be in contention, and we certainly were competitive today.” "
"Its interesting to hear the investment spin on this, both monetarily and emotionally.
I truly believe Billy Napier is a Snake Oil Salesman. A “Con-fidence” Man. USA Today wrote about him today calling him the “King of Coach Speak” and having the “gift of gab”.
These traits make for excellent recruiting and fundraising but listening to him from day one, he always said the right thing, always.
Jason says, follow actions, not words when it comes to the kids we recruit. I would say we do the same with Billy from here on out.
Unfortunately, these smart successful boosters invested emotionally and bought the snake oil. I bought it too.
Words are wind."
"You have faith that Billy can get the changes right, if made? I haven’t seen anything that makes me believe that, including hiring Armstrong."
"No on on here is mad at those guys, they have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND.....sadly the class will fall apart and all their work is likely for naught.....Billy is not capable.....plain to see by now unless you are blinded by O&B glasses"
"There are too many issues that need to be fixed. I can provide a list of like 7-8 of them.
We are just delaying the inevitable. I appreciate what BD does but it is a lost cause at this point."
"Unfortunately investing money into Napier is a bad investment. It is what it is."
"Of course he will not get fired...however we will lose a ton of good recruits and it will get much much worse next season with the schedule.....good chance we lose Amaris ("missed flight to game" LOL), Nasir, Filsame, and miss on all the remaining targets.....likely we lose a lot more than that TBH....Napier is done here, just working out the clock for another 1-2 seasons sadly"
"Just get through the Season and hope?
That’s all we got?
No talk of addressing ST issues?
Keep starting Montrell over ETN?
Keep starting Jackson over Anybody?
Keep playing offense in a phone booth?
Keep letting QB draws all day long?
I guess I’ll just HOPE all that changes."
"Clearly he does not....he was asked about continued ST issues, then he snarkly answered "What specifically are you referring too" ...then when the reporter added detail, context, he deflected and did not even answer the question....he is clueless...."
"What adjustments have we made this season? What did we do to get better the last 2 off seasons? Gotta take off the goggles…there’s no real evidence that suggests he will actually make necessary moves. We don’t know how to use our personnel, we get out coached by almost every team. It’s hard to justify anything I’ve seen this season because those issues could’ve been addressed in the off season but never did. Is it week 9? And the team still has no identity & hasn’t played a complete game of football smh. There’s no physicality/intensity with this team & unfortunately it starts from the top down. He just doesn’t have it in him to be a dominant coach in the SEC. Billy has to alter himself for UF to get where we want them to be but he is just not that kind of guy."
"This team has killed my spirit and want to watch them. As sad as that is it is true. In my 40+ years of watching Gator football I simply don’t want to watch the next two weeks. The conclusion is foregone. I’ll be at the FSU game hoping for a miracle but expecting more disappointment."
"No. But we r losing out. If he can't win at home against a 2-6 team who had a oc who has never called plays before.... how we gonna win at lsu, at mizz, or fsu?"
"No way. Only something egregious outside of football would even allow that possibility. He’s back next year. My only hope is he secures Lagway and whatever new HC that comes in can keep him."
"I don’t see us winning any more games, but is that enough to force the issue? I mean, can you imagine what Gator nation looks like in late November or early December? It will be UGLY."
"Unfortunately not because the person who gave him this contract is on the same level of competency as our Hc"
"We aren’t winning another game and they will be blowouts"
"But Billy needs to be fired if we lose out. 100% he deserves to be fired right now as it stands"
"No. He’s not getting fired but he should. But Stricklin has to go first"
"I genuinely would like to know why people think Billy should keep his job? What has he done to keep his job? He has accomplished NOTHING at UF in 2 years. If we lose out his record stands at 11-14 with only 2 road wins in 2 years. That’s absolutely pathetic."
"Slow rebuilds where you tear down the whole program are super risky. We might have to fire a guy that just gutted all the players off the team. If we had to endure another transition class next year our roster would be horrific. Billy gets another year IF he holds onto the class.
No more slow rebuilds for me. Our program is in a scary spot if Billy can't get this situation under control."
"Coaching. Coaching. It's always something like. Tackling, play calling, time management, etc. List goes on call it what u want but this team is also poorly coached
That's 100% clear as well"
"He needs to take his role as HC seriously and be that. Not OC, realize you need an ON THE FIELD Special teams coach and manage like a CEO. Hes in over his head doing too much and get the right Oline staff"
"Because the schedule gets harder next year and we have improved 0 since he took over. Infact you can have a firm argument the on field progress has regressed since Mullen’s last season. The fans deserve better than this dumpster fire circus that’s put on the field for the last 2 years."
"This is the worst part about coaches that are lame ducks. We have to have these continued discussions on which players are at fault for like 1-2 years until eventually the coach is fired. It’s so repetitive but I get it. We definitely have some very poor talent at certain positions."
"Yep. False bill of goods. It’s hard to keep hope alive when we see the same thing over and over again on the field on Saturdays"
"Honestly, we aren’t good at anything..
Our OC is terrible, our DC is terrible and well we don’t even have a STs coach. We literally are bad in all 3 phases of the game. And oh yeah we are soft and slow.
The only thing that has gone well in the entire football program under Napier is high school recruiting and that is probably going to take a hit now.
I’m struggling to find any positives."
"It’s unrealistic to expect competent coaching and winning records, don’t you get it?"
"Worst part is we’re stuck with this guy for at least another year. Even after putting out a 5-7 season. We’ve hit rock bottom as a program with Billy Napier"
"Also no competent OC or oline coaches are going to join a Napier staff that is on the hot seat next year.
We aren’t magically going to get some good OC or oline coach next year."
"WE ONLY RECRUIT…we’ll coach during coaching season 😎"
"With Stricklin at AD, I’m not confident at all in any proclamations of rock bottom."
"Yeah having 3 losing seasons in a row sucks for sure. Everyone else around us seems to have figured it out besides us, which makes it suck more"
"Rock Bottom is 3 weeks away......."
"The thing about it is how do you hire Muschamp, Mac, Mullen and Napier? Mistake after Mistake by folks at UF. 3 unproven coaches and a washed up one in Mullen. Then you have 3 disasters Grantham, Toney and Armstrong as DC's in a row. No position group of this current team is well coached and we are about to be losing 5 games in a row by the end of the year."
This is not nearly all of them, but I would be here all day. 😂 😂 😂 😂
*EDIT- I read a few more that need to be posted....
"Napier post game comments...
LOL. Before the reporters were gonna ask questions he tried to divert the heat and wanted to talk about all of the “good from this week”. I think it’s great we wore the black jerseys to raise money for Vets. But dude, take the hard questions like a man. Don’t try to focus on something you weren’t hired to do. You are getting paid a lot of money to win games. And BN is to blame for todays loss 100%. Delete the post idc. You KNOW it’s true."
"STFU. Noboday wants to hear about how he is “going to get to the bottom of it”, or how great our Punt Returns were today when our Special Teams have been a disaster all year without improvement. Just stop spilling BS and take ownership.
The truth is that he is in way over his head, is terribly unprepared for the SEC and gets outcoached almost every week.
Now go ahead and tell me about how big the talent gap is and make excuses…I will just trust my eyes.
A gator in all kinds of Weather…Go Gators."
"I don't care what he says. Show us something - it's that simple."
"He knows he has ZERO heat, he knows he has 4-5 years before he has HEAT on him. When he is said its not his job to preach patience but to coach the players, that reminded me of when Muschamp lashed out at the fanbase after the SC loss the season prior to his dismissal."
"Does seem like in his press conference after losses, that he knows he’s safe no matter how trash his on field performance is. Dodges questions and gives BS vanilla responses like “we’re always evaluating” “let’s look at the good”. Like guy has done nothing good on the field since arriving here"
"When the contract was on the table he played poker and UF played Go fish. Hands are tied. They will throw spaghetti at the wall in the offseason. Good times. I'm done. Everybody, have a great day and remember..... We are a baseball school and damn good at it... Go Gators."
"That was an absolute pathetic showing today. Dude needs to be held to account."
"It’s week 10 year 2. The lack of talent is Billys own fault. His portal strategy has been one big ass joke outside of 3 players. He should have done better with bringing guys in the last 2 cycles through the portal. We also were outside the top 10 in the last recruiting class with multiple costly mistakes. His strategy is downright horrible. People need to stop blaming Mullen for a team that’s regressed to a worse product than the season we fired Mullen."
"His PCs are useless, he says nothing of substance except the same word salad turns of phrase."
"Actually, I think it pretty clearly shows you he’s out of touch with reality and doesn’t know what he’s seeing.
Keep going back to his career trajectory. How when he was on staff with the two best coaches he’s coached with he was passed over or let go entirely. He doesn’t instill confidence. His demeanor and his lack of killer instinct is all wrong for UF imo. For any real program at this level.
Go coach in the sun belt or a service academy. He’s great for that. Not so much for high stakes college football"
"Did anyone else’s head explode all over the room when billy replied to the question about special teams needing help with basically “what do you mean?”(paraphrasing). He doesn’t even know that our spesh teams is a dumpster fire. And how in the hell is a player in charge of getting the kicking team on the field????Please someone explain this. I’m just a dentist."
"He’s a passive person. This is who he is. Win or lose he’s just kind of there analyzing everything. He will over think himself, calmly right out of a job
He is who he is and he’s the most passive coach we’ve ever had. He is not a guy that will ever maximize the players and the staff we have.
*At some point he will blow, when he realizes he does not have the answers."
"He really asked the reporter “what special teams issues”. That’s absurd. We had ten players on the field again, there was a muffed extra point, there was that procedural penalty, give me a break."
"I tell everyone not to be jealous of our swimming golf and tennis teams. All things you enjoy when you get older in life.
No sarcasm"
"BINGO. In year 2, we are heading towards a season that is worse than the one that got Mullen fired. Who also won a heck of a lot more games than Billy this far in."
"So he literally said in his presser that a PLAYER is responsible for getting the field goal team out there in that scenario and the rest just followed him. So now we have PLAYERS running out the special teams? No special teams coach so let’s just let a player handle it…my god 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️"
"That’s my thing. I think he’s great for the sunbelt or a service academy. Hey, he would mold some great high school players in to good young men. He is a good guy. He is at the wrong school in the wrong conference unless that’s ultimately (to use his phrase he uses way too often) what the powers that be expect from him. Right now he’s operating with this attitude like he is actually doing what’s expected of him. That’s scary imo"
"Guy has the best “aw shucks” game ever. His agent is genius.
As long as he behaves, he will earn 85 percent of his go-forward contract."
"There is talent on this team. Some areas still need to be upgraded. This team is not devoid of talent. If SOS, Bob Stoops or Kirby (God forbid) were coaching this team they would be 7-2 right now. This is all coaching. Napier is not a good game day coach."
"I think the fanbase would be more patient if we were at least making progress or he showed that he could coach.
But we are bad in all 3 phases of the game and usually have a few head scratching plays in every game that are coaching related errors."
"It is funny that everyone was roasting Beamer for throwing players under the bus but Billy just blamed a player for the FG debacle. Don't forget that Arkansas just called a timeout before the first down completion. How does a Coach not tell his team that if we get a first down we are spiking the ball? Did anyone else catch Mertz confused as hell why the FG unit was rushing out there? And to top it off our Head Coach proceeds to downplay ST blunders every post conference. This team under Billy is mentally draining to watch."
"Let’s not forget that he hired a million staffers but he has a player responsible for when a unit goes on the field?!?!
This is like watching the whole Gorney/Lagway rankings thing go down."
"Mertz and the whole offense knew they needed to spike it. Everyone except the guy in charge who can’t stop himself from needlessly burning timeouts every single game."
"Morning. Only reason I’m putting in a post today is because I’ve received countless DM‘s. Thanks for reaching out. I’m gonna take a few days off and just ponder everything before responding. So please don’t think I am ignoring you.

"Honestly, any chance he’s gone if we lose out?
A lot of venting going on right now, and rightfully so. We are all frustrated and disappointed with the program. I know the money thing and structure of Billy’s contract has UF in a bad position. The reality is, if we lose out and pick up next season where we left off…a great freshman class does not rescue you. I’d be shocked if it doesn’t begin to implode over the next 3 weeks. For those who are connected, is it totally out of the question that Stricklin wouldn’t have to entertain the thought of getting rid of Billy in the off season. I can’t imagine losing out then seeing Billy leading the charge in week 1 next season. The fan support will likely be at an all-time low. As outrageous as it sounds, it looks like our not so distant future.""No. But we r losing out.
