The thread started with Michael Cunningham's editorial on Alan Judd's article. The lack of program awareness here is remarkable.

"Gaylen Hall? Urban Meyer? Never heard of them." Gator:
Because they're winning.

Winning is ALL that matters in some places. (one of their mods)

"We would know" Gator: Sounds like a Netflix show in the making.

"Can't get behind that paywall, but the headline is enough for me. Burn it all down." Gator:
If I were a victim of one of UGA's thug football players I would sue not just the person in question but the university for hiring a coach that willfully ignored the growing amount of crime being committed by his players, and for creating an environment that protects his players against their crimes from the public eye.

I would sue the AD for doing nothing about the rampant crime that he personally knew... that was coming from his football team/player/program, and he did nothing to curb nor address it in a preventative way with a positive outcome. The coach and the university too are to blame.

The "smoking gun" for their part in the next crime committed by one of Kirby's thugs is easy to prove that the school... the AD... the coach are the fact that these football players, that have committed these crimes in the past, are still on the team, and that proves inaction or the lack of institutional control by the university... the AD... the coach. It proves that they were not serious enough to prevent nor even slow down the lawlessness on their own football team.

Kirby already took blame for the crimes committed by his players, so now his own words can be used against him in a court of law. He and others aforementioned at that university are accountable...

"Kirby should have kicked those players off the team that he kicked off the team" Gator: As someone who works with students on a weekly basis… I can tell you this is not just a problem at Georgia, or with athletes… This is a problem for females on campus all over the country. I hear horror story after horror story of sexual abuse, sexual assault, sexual harassment, and very little done about it… And a very “boys will be boys” “how much did you have to drink and what were you wearing attitude”. I’d hope that if this happened with our football team, they’d be kicked off. Smart and admin should be held accountable

"The jean shorts are cut up to there" Gator: I don't work with students, but I've seen them while driving by the UF campus. And one thing that stands out to me in your post is "what were you wearing." As someone who attended UF more than half a century ago, I honestly have to say it's amazing to see how female students dress today. It's the difference between night and day, to the best of my memory back when I was in school such apparel would be scandalous. Maybe I'm just an old fogey way behind the times, but I can't help but think that the way students dress today may be in some part related to what you call "a problem for females on campus all over the country."

"Lord, it's hard to be so innocent while our enemies are so evil" Gator: Interesting that our traditional two biggest rivals are both scum from the bottom of the bucket. Other than that Sandusky mess, nobody else comes close to rivaling ref$u and uga. How can we be so lucky

"Whoah to the Pharisees and teachers of the Law" Gator: We’re literally the last ones to be throwing stones here. During the Meyer era, it was the closest thing I’ve seen to the thug trash at Miami in the 80s. There was ZERO accountability. Players assaulted others, got off, things were paid off reportedly like the Hernandez situation, and so forth.

"How dare you speak blasphemy on Irvin Meyers, Percy Harvey and Aaron Hernandez!!" Gator Mod: EDIT: Original post deleted as insulting players from 2005-2010. /ETGator

"A prophet is always hated in his hometown" Gator: There’s a reason it’s getting a documentary, and second, I’ve been here since 2012 thanks. Muschamp in his first act was literally in a closed door meeting with the president of the university and told to clean up the program.

"Mom said Dad was in the waste management business. She wouldn't lie." Gator: Bullsh!t. We never ever had the network to cover up and manipulate the legal system to keep our players on the field. We had some issues under Meyer for sure, but sanctioned corruption throughout the athletic department all the way to the local PD was never in play. To insinuate that we were so corrupt as to bury 11 sexual assault charges is troll-worthy bullsh!t.

"Everybody's cheating except us and we still get punished" Gator: I've been a Gator fan a long time and have read countless stories or facts about Georgia, FSU, Miami, Alabama, Tenn, LSU, Auburn etc. that entail cheating, paying players, covering up crimes...you name it. But for whatever reason...the programs always seem to get away with it and get a slap on the wrist or nothing at all. Yet somehow the Gator program does not receive the same preferential treatment these other programs receive so I would not hold my breath that Smart is going to be concerned one bit about the AJC article or investigation because nothing will come of it.

The announcement that the AJC has fired Judd and edited the story

"Kirby is running the AJC and the whole state" Gator moderator:
I thought you were kidding but looked into it and it's true. Minor corrections and the reporter was fired.

This just shows how corrupt the entire state of Georgia is, IMO. Trying to catch the Gumps.

It will make things that much sweeter when Florida ascends back to its rightful place.

"You don't have to pay the debil at the mountain peak if you don't make it to the mountain peak" Gator: Those that find their way to the top in college football often seem to need to eventually give the devil his due to stay there. That's one reason I'm happy with the Napier hire. I feel confident that he will never knowingly let that happen on his watch.
