Much is rightly being made of the challenge Georgia will face in Knoxville having had to play Alabama the week before. If you look at the SEC schedule that week, I can't see how our game isn't the CBS 3:30 game. It is also quite possible that UT-Arkansas will be the second best pick, which would make that a night game. Yes, they are at home, as we are. But Arkansas may have no equal in the SEC in terms of its ability to physically beat up on an opponent. And The Vols are in Gainesville the week before. That will be a war as well.
We will have had one big game after four weeks of scrimmages (OK, maybe Cocky Locky is a bit more than a scrimmage, but still, we have Southern the week before Alabama). The point is, we should still be a rested football team by that point. Especially when you throw in the Oklahoma game on September 12, Tennessee should be tired, and maybe pretty banged up as well, by the time we show up.
Yes, it will be loud. Yes, Richt's loss to Kiffin up there was an abomination and we generally have not played well up there. And yes, we have a massive game the week before. But if we are a better team than UT, we should win that game.
Maybe the bigger threat is Missouri the next week.
