I am in the ATL fairly often, and have no issues....the City has so many different areas...be smart, and you'll be fine most of the time.

Gotta love Americus at #4 ... that is awesome ...

I've almost gotten my head knocked in down in Americus on Cotton St or whatever the street was at the edge of downtown that used to basically be an open air drug bazaar in the 70's and 80's. Their "corner" was basically the whole street. Must have been paying some huge bribes to the man. It was wide open.

dated a girl in Flowery Branch..

It wasn't my scene at all. It was real quite, but the mentality was extreme right wing conservative Christian. Everyone griped about how Atlanta used to be. It was pretty chilled out though and they have some great mt bike trails up there.
