After half the private schools in single A left, they've approved a new reclassification plan this week with some good and some huh? for good measure. Public and private in single A are being recombined (about freaking time!), private schools will now have x3 multiplier on all out of area students, and single A is now going to be split into two divisions based on size (D1 and D2). It's going to result in schools like ELCA and Athens Academy moving up in classification while schools like Rabun County and Elbert County move down to single A. My main question is why not just have 1A through 8A instead of this weird 2 division single A class? Anyways, here's the potential breakdown of the new A-AAA classifications (nothing changed above AAA) from the AJC earlier this week. Not sure if this is the final breakdown that was approved, but it should be pretty close.
