Finally, another CMF staple I have relied on is busted, that CMF cannot beat Mike White. I hope UF is able to make it back into the top 25 by the end of the season so we can have multiple wins over ranked teams this year (St. Mary's shouldn't drop out).
UF started out hot. Then, after being down 5 at the half, started the second half hot, going on a 12-2 run to take a 5pt lead in less than 3minutes. Shades of Auburn, but this time CMF called a timeout and although it took some time, the bleeding stopped. Also, a much more stable lineup and substitution pattern emerged. That made me happy.
But we scored 70. Good Lord Above, we got to 70 points! That tasted like salt water taffy on a warm summer's day. I haven't looked at a stat, but I bet we shot better than any of our last 6 games. And Claxton was the star, and he only scored 5pts... But he played so hard... It was mucho fun to watch.
Time to blow some more CMF tropes and win 2 on the road. That CMF cannot beat Vandy at home (ok, he already did, 2015,we won by 2). That we can score 70+ in 2 games in a row.
If we had played nearly this good in a bunch of games this year (losses and wins) I would say we are about where we should be. But this is 1 game in about a month that we played really well when needed. We gotta play this well again before I get my hopes up, but it was a good win.
