I also saw where the GOP wants to bring Romney back.

This is exactly how the Dems would hope it would go...splinter the center to right vote so that Hillary's 40% is able to win....dammit.
However, IF Romney got in this thing(and did so emphatically ), he would automatically be the most presidential candidate across the board.
I could get firmly behind a Romney/Rubio ticket.

Looks like the establishment GOP is finally coming to the realization that the Trump will not self destruct because he's backed by the growing radical wing of the GOP. Seems as though the chickens are finally coming home to roost for the establishment.

Unless a Republican runs as an independent, 40% can't win. No party gets 2 candidates in the general.
The Dems will obviously pull higher than 40% though. This will be a 4 point election at most.

I think you are probably right. The republicans could run Abraham Lincoln again and wouldn't win because he would labeled a lunatic by the liberal left. Plus the media would sway all of the low information voters back to the democratic plantation. You got a pretty good racket going on.

Yeah it used to be mainstream to want borders and sovereign country. Not any more. Not to Dems. Fellas and ettes, hear me out. There's one candidate in this race who had the ticket fractured by a candidate who ran as an independent when the republican in the race didn't get his way in the primary. Everyone expected the candidate who won the nomination to lose because the ticket had been split. But he persevered and won. That man is Marco Rubio. He may be our guy to win if Trump splits; he's been there before. Jus sayin'
