almost non-existent. I have never seen a team that works so hard to get back in a game and absolutely go to pieces when they have a chance to take the lead. It happens over and over again. Tonight twice we had it within two in the second half and could not hit wide open looks, or make free throws when we needed them. I swear CM has killed our momentum so many times missing two, the front end of a 1&1, or failing to complete the three point play.KG Just seems incapable of hitting the really clutch shot, even when wide open this year.
I keep hearing about our defensive stats, but our halfcourt defense tonight was absolutely abysmal. We could not stop any dribble drive without fouling and left guys wide open for threes the entire second half. Yes, they were calling it close, but you gotta recognize that and adjust. Even a guy hitting 29% on the year was so open he made three in the second half.
It was gonna be tough without Yante for sure and it was a great effort to stay in the game, but we had chances and just threw them away with poor defense and an inability to make the shots when we needed them.
