Last night felt as good as anything for dawg fans since turning the Cocktail Party back our way a couple years back. With that said, we shouldn't expect anyone outside of the hedges to appreciate how big the W felt because it's viewed as a home blowout against a declining program that should probably be 0-3 right now. Always good to enjoy a beat down to get a monkey off your back but probably less than 15% of college fans know or appreciate the Spurrier voodoo that has plagued us. It was a big hump to get over and we did so hold your heads high (especially SC dawgs).
Achieving our program goals really comes down to the month of October. National acclaim will come if we win against a pissed off Bama team and I like our chances based on our recent history of big time home games. This game is still not the end all as much as the next 3 will be.
Enough has been written about the pitfalls waiting on us in ButtChuggerville not to mention it is essentially our QB's 1st true road game in a hostile environment. After a Bama win we risk the big head letdown and after a loss we see if we can pick ourselves up off the ground.
Leave the UT game undefeated and Missouri at home decides whether or not we go to Atlanta. This is my biggest worry for a letdown game because we would be feeling justifiably good about ourselves and getting a boatload of national attention. Survive them and it's on to reclaiming our manhood against the Turds in Jax which is never as easy as it seems.
Realistically, we can only lose 1 game in October and it can't be to Mizzou, due to their schedule, if we want to consider our ticket punched to the dome come midnight Halloween.
I see UT and UF with 2 nearly guaranteed conference losses each aside from their game with us which makes Mizzou our game of the year.
