Emerson is the story, obviously... how good was that guy? Last year he was fairly raw, but one thing he showed over and over was his mental fortitude... that was one thing that always stood out to me. If he had a bad inning, put some guys on base, he’d keep it to 2-3 runs. It wouldn’t turn into 5-6... now, his stuff is better, he is more polished, but he’s still every bit as head strong. It’s special stuff, it really is.

I think it was the 5th inning that we had a guy on in front of Randon Jernigan... Jernigan didn’t bunt and hit into a DP... really and truly, I was ok with that. I liked letting him swing, even if that outcome wasn’t what we wanted. I think earlier in Tucker Maxwell’s career, it seemed like we only let him bunt and I thought that it may have hampered his development somewhat. I know the temptation is always there with a guy like Jernigan, but he can hit a little bit too... we didn’t need to give away an out at that point in the game... and we certainly didn’t need to be trying to bunt with Aaron Schunk later.

Lastly, it was great seeing Justin Glover go those last two innings. He’s really moving up in the bullpen... and his outing tonight sets us up great for the rest of the weekend.

Only have to split these next two to get our SIXTH straight series win over these people.
