This has got to be the most obvious, non-debatable statement in the history of this forum, yet every time someone says it, another group comes back with (paraphrasing) "it's Brice all the way, Lambert isn't good enough and everyone knows it."

Good grief, let's consider the other side of that argument ("Greyson Lambert was ONLY brought here for 'depth'")... Does anyone, ANYONE, really believe that we would use a scholarship on a guy who don't think is capable of seeing the field outside of a couple of injuries? Like the following two discussions actually took place....

Schottenheimer: Coach, I'm all set with Brice Ramsey, though I'm not going to announce that, but we'll need another QB with Park presumably leaving. I don't want to only have two.

Richt: Yeah? What do you think?

S: I hear this Lambert kid is leaving Virginia. He's not good enough to play here even though you idiots offered him out of high school, but if something happens to the guy I've already chosen, he could probably not lose a few games for us. Think "Bobby Collins" from "The Program"...

R: Go after him! My model is to never use all 85 scholarships anyway, so we have room. That was good movie. I really liked the athletic director in that one...

S: OK, so just so we're in agreement, we're going to offer Lambert though we have no illusions about him ever playing here and will be in trouble if he does.

R: Right. We brought in that Nick Robinson kid as a walk on for some reason other than depth or to start, so let's go ahead and give a scholarship to Lambert.

Schottenheimer: Hey Grayson, this is Brian Schottenheimer, the offensive coordinator from... well, you know where I'm from.

Lambert: Hey. It's "Greyson", actually.

S: Yeah, ok. We hear you're leaving Virginia. How'd you like to come to Athens?

L: That may be something to consider. I hear your QB situation is in flux.

S: Not really. But we need another body there.

L: Yeah?

S: Yeah.

L: Well, coach, I'm getting a lot calls now and these other schools aren't bringing me in just to be a back up. Florida told me I'd start for them.

S: Mark Sanchez would start for Florida... probably. Your skill set is what it is. We know what your QBR last year was. But we could use you just in case. When you get here, your new name will be "Justin Cason Lambert"

L: Do you make a habit of offering scholarships to guys who you don't think are good enough to play?

S: We do now. We're never afraid to whiff on an offensive tackle, for what it's worth. Clock is ticking. What's it going to be GrAyson?

L: So if I am to understand, the only reason you want me is to serve as a backup? You want me to come here just to add depth?

S: Yes! I can see you're going to grasp the mental side of the game with no problem.

L: Well, ok, this a completely irrational decision given these parameters, but I'll come to Athens.

S: Lovely. I'll expect to see you down here tomorrow. Just take the MegaBus down and call a cab when you get to the terminal in Athens.

L: I was thinking I was going to take two weeks off for no fairly obvious reason. So I'll be there later this summer.

S: I don't care and it doesn't matter. See you whenever you get here, Greg.

L: It's "Greyson"

S: Whatever, man.
