Quite the game Gump: Well… that was pretty much the final score I was expecting. The way in which we arrived at it was quite the surprise.
"Refs trying to ruin Saban's night" Gump: Guys, take away the three turnovers and penalties and we crush this team.
"Great win vs. a quality opponent" Gump: This can be a good opportunity for the starters to battle back. Also good to flex our run game that has atrophied over the past few years.
"Still the same old Bammer, baby.... once you take away the weeds" Gump:
The penalties and fumbles kept that game from being 50+ to what they had.
"Once we get our crap together in the last 7 minutes, it was over and they knew it. RTR!":
If a team insists on getting in its own way and hobbling itself, every game is a potential loss.
Once Bama got out of its own way, this team imposed its will on USF.
Angelo Dundee Gump: You have to admire CKD‘s gameplan of letting them run free at the QB until they got tired. That was Ali rope-a-dope esque
"UTK already leapfrogged us and obtained equal status with UGA" Gump: I dont see significant improvement in our OL play or our QB play....a win is a win but its flattering to say the least....UGA will kill us if we play like this. We have to execute more efficiently...I dont think JM can get us to the level we need to be at compared to UT/UGA
Saban joined the board in retirement Gump: These are the games that cause me to color my hair.
"Amazing how we finally figured out the run game at the end when their D was tired and we ran a split carry backfield" Gump: Roll Tide! We'll have a better showing against Whisky. I was emcouraged by the run game at the end
"Ty has beaten him out both years now, but Saban and now DeBoer can't see it" Gump: The OL definitely struggled tonight, but Milroe is still Milroe. There’s a lot of good in that statement, but I think we’ve hit his ceiling. More competent QBs would have made USF pay for their relentless blitzing. Maybe it’s time to rip the band-aid off the QB position.
"Is DeBoer not respected by the refs like Saban" Gump: The amount of flags showing up in football this year is a little strange
Jalen for Heisman Gump: Jalen Milroe still does not know how to play quarterback. He knows how to run and knows how to throw deep, but that’s it. Any of our recent QBs (Tua, Mac, Bryce) would have carved up these guys against the blitz. I am tired of seeing this feast or famine crap.
