Roger Couch. Roger played on the Decatur High Sate Championship team in 1957. His teammate was Don Keiser, who went on to a nice career at UGA. Roger played frosh BB at UGA and then transferred to Oglethorpe and started for three years in baseball and basketball. His coach was the great Garland Pinholster a true basketball legend an genius. Roger was my coach at Decatur for three years and was an incredible teacher of fundamentals and defense. His influence had as much to do with whatever success I had in basketball as anything in my career. He won Coach of the Year honors fourteen times in his career, which included high school, Jr. College and college. He was a tough competitor and instilled that in his players as well. He was a great friend in later years to me and my teammates at Decatur. RIP Roger.
