It's another hot one as temperatures the last I checked are still hovering in the upper 90s.
Fortunately, the team - as least as of yet - hasn't seen to be affected as practice (at least the three periods we were allowed to watch) were crisp with a lot of energy.
Watched the quarterbacks a little bit longer than yesterday.
Today, it was Brice Ramsey taking the reps with the first unit, followed by Greyson Lambert and Faton Bauta with Nick Robinson getting reps with the fourth unit. Again, don't read a lot into this just yet as Coach Richt has started he's going to be rotating the three quarterbacks in with all three units, at least for the time being.
I watched them do a few drills, mostly hot routes to the tight ends and all three QBs seemed to throw the ball well. Lambert, in particularly, seemed to be throwing with a bit more zip than yesterday while one of Ramsey's passes went right through the hands of backup tight end Jared Chapple. Too hot to handle, I supposed.
Today, the offensive line was broken up like this with John Theus, Kolton Houston, Kendall Baker, Sage Hardin, Pat Allen, Aulden Bynum and Alex Essex seeing time with the tackles with Mirko Jurkovic, Hunter Long, Brandon Kublanow, Dyshon Sims, Lamont Gaillard, Isaiah Wynn, Jake Edwards, Greg Pyke, Sam Madden seeing work with the centers and guards. I don't think I left anyone out there.
The running backs repped as such:
First unit - Nick Chubb
Second unit - Sony Michel
Third unit - Keith Marshall
Fourth unit - A.J. Turman
Fifth unit - Brendan Douglas
Christian Payne continues to rep as the first team fullback, followed by Quayvon Hicks
Defensively, it's been mentioned here already but bears repeating, Trenton Thompson appears to be in outstanding shape. Bears absolutely not resemblance to the young man I saw in high school.
Others of note actually included Shattle Fenteng. I know I've been a little hard on Shattle, but give him credit, he looks the best in the year that he's been here. Coach Pruitt appeared to be pleased with what he was seeing from him today..
Was fun watching the inside backers go through their sled work. Roquan Smith is going to be special. I'll just leave it as that.
Radi and Jake will drop by with more later.
