Morning all
Some missing personnel today.
We were out there for periods 2-5 and during that time did not see Leonard Floyd, Tim Kimbrough, Terry Godwin (shoulder) or Isaiah McKenzie (hamstring). Not sure at this time what might be up with Kimbrough and Floyd, although the latter went on Facebook yesterday and posted "Ramsey Day! too bad I can't swim so rehab it is." We will update as soon as we know more.
Davin Bellamy was on the stationary bike wearing what looked like a small cast over his left hand, but later was on the field and taking part in the lineups on the DL - yes, the DL.
Backup offensive lineman Dyshon Sims was in green and not taking part in practice. Mirko Jurkovic was not there either and we understand was to undergo some minor surgery. He later tweeted it was a success.
Later, backup wide receiver Ben Souther was on a bike as well.
Some good news, defensive end James DeLoach was in green (hand wrapped) but going through drills after suffering a fracture in his left hand.
On the practice field, I caught some of the "jump drills" with the WR where Coach Bryan McClendon would loft a thow and it was the receiver's job to come back down with the ball.
Shakenneth Williams, Shaquary Wilson and Michael Chigbu received some atta-boys from Mark Richt.
Love watching Coach Sale. The thing about Rob Sale is he is very hands on. He will jump in and physically show a player exactly how he wants something to be done, and the players seem to respond accordingly. Great chemistry with the big guys up front so far.
Also caught some one-on-one blocking drills with the outside linebackers and tight ends.
You don't often hear of Jeb Blazevich as being known for his blocking expertise, but twice he stoned Jordan Jenkins, which is no easy feat.
Chuks Amaechi, however, was having no such issue.
Amaechi blew past Jordan Davis as if he were standing still on one particular play. Amaechi, I'm told, has been very impressive all camp.
Took some more time to watch Trenton Thompson, and the more and more you watch him, the more obvious it becomes that Tracy Rocker has big plans for him, working him extensively with what looked to be the first unit - at least for the drills I was watching.
Thompson was basically getting looks in each and every one of the DL sets, including goal line and Nickel.
Jake and Radi will have more to come.
