We used to plant flowers around the house but the chipmunks dug a lot of them up. So we planted a bunch of dwarf gardenias, which are evergreen, don’t require any maintenance, have a nice white flower, and smell great. The chipmunks do not bother them.
Lost both my German Shepards after 12 years about two years ago. We have a very nice garden we work hard in it. We have about 30 different hostas. The deer has decimated them this year. It took one growing season for them to realize the dogs were gone. Deer and coyotes taking over.
