Don't worry...this won't hurt much. It's only temporary until we get thru the War. Politicians and CFR looked at that money like kids in a candy store. It took em only 25 years to get the top rate up from 6% to NINETY PERCENT. Yes, 90%.
Only 1% tax on income up to $20,000 at first. I don't reckon many CHATs famblies were making much more than that back in 1913. Taxes were only 4 pages back then, to account for deductions. They called you "greedy" if you complained about them starting an income tax of only 1%. Think of the children.
