Jack Lemmon was first offered the role of Sundance and turned it down......

Hard to believe, but I'm glad he did, even though Lemmon was one of the best actors ever in Hollywood. Also hard to believe that no studio wanted to do this picture at first because the characters go to South America (even though that happened in real life).

Turned out to be a gold mine of a picture.
